I started Broadcast Academy Incorporated in 2017 as an after school program at P.S. 188 in Manhattan, New York. My broadcasting experience includes working in college, AM, FM, HD, non-commercial FM, satellite, and internet radio. My broadcast technology experience includes working at Radio Computing Services (RCS), (an international leader in broadcast technology) in support, training, and R&D, where I was able to travel the world installing automation systems and training radio broadcasters of every genre. The Broadcast Academy is my way of giving back and ensuring I'm doing my part for the future of the industry.
The Soundcheck iRadio Network is the real-world streaming network where we test new technologies and programming concepts. It also provides a streaming platform for our participants and others to hone their skills.
Soundcheck Media Group, LLC is our entertainment business company. Soundcheck Media Group specializes in broadcast consulting, talent management, publishing and distribution.
I'm thankful for those who contribute their time, talent, and feedback to make this platform a success. We are celebrating 20 years of providing a service to our communities. This was done without major funding or sponsorships. Imagine what we could do if a couple of sponsors or investors got on board! Our West Palm Beach office building was recently sold in order to develop high-rise condominiums, so we are raising money to relocate and hopefully acquire our own building. Bio - Kenneth K. Spellman
Kenneth credits his tenacity, dedication and can-do attitude to his Army & Air Force experiences. A native New Yorker, Ken’s career spans over forty years of technology, broadcasting and the entertainment business. He is CEO of Soundcheck Media Group LLC., The Soundcheck iRadio Network and Broadcast Academy Inc. Ken has distribution and publishing deals and is a Co-CEO of Noizemaka Music.

Over the years Ken has developed a strong network of industry professionals and celebrities covering every aspect of the entertainment business. Ken’s "Create-the box" approach sets him apart in developing, marketing & promoting the products and services of his clients. Ken has been a guest speaker at numerous industry related events including the Billboard R&B Convention, Radio & Records Conference (R&R), The Urban Network, A3C, SXSW, The Grammy Awards, New Music Seminar, CES, and. The Black College Radio Convention.

BROADCASTING HIGHLIGHTS
Mr. Spellman is a certified specialist in the use the Radio Computing Services (RCS) suite of broadcasting software applications including GSelector, Selector / Linker SQL, Zetta, Master Control, NexGen, Radioshow RDS, Media Monitors, and Media Base. Ken was instrumental in the development of internet voice tracking which received a patent for RCS.

As a start-up specialist, Ken is often called upon to provide initial consultations, format flips, software installations, hardware recommendations, technical support, programming assistance, and training to broadcast facilities worldwide.
As the first African American Program Manager of Sirius Radio Mr. Spellman was instrumental in the establishment and development of the initial R&B channels. While in this position he tested the satelite radio technology in his vehicle, trained other programmers and recruited celebrity talent (including MC Lyte, DJ Grandmaster Flash, Usher, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bebe Winans, Kurtis Blow, Dana Dane) to work with Sirius. Ken was also called upon to represent Sirius during automotive and other third party partnership negotiations.
